DEMOCRACY VS. COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP

Democracy

Communist Dictatorship
A government where the common people are considered as the primary source of political power. Representation is exercised either directly or through elected representatives. The majority rule. Democracy contains the principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community.  A government where theoretically everything is equal. All goods are shared equally by the people. No individual may own private property and labor is organized for the common advantage of all members. The government plans and controls the economy. A single, authoritarian party holds power.

Democracy is good because it does strive to uphold certain principles of social equality. Democracy is more realistic, than Communism, because it accepts the imperfections of having social classes in society and does not strive to make society perfect. Democracy does become corrupt many times, because those who have more money are able to influence politics, but realistically the government works better because having social competition does seem to be human nature. Those who choose to work harder are more rewarded: Hard words pays off, literally. Democracy needs low class citizens to do minimum wage jobs. Trying to make every person equal is an impossible task that limits citizens freedom to think and act individually, Democracy understands this.
At the end of the day, one of the main problems with communism is that no matter how hard one individual works or does not work, every individual makes the same amount of money. A doctor with eight years of college makes nearly the same amount as a janitor with no college. Even though striving toward social equality, seems like a good thing, it brings many problems upon itself, such as Socialized Medicine. Social Medicine, seems good, because it entitles everyone to medicines and medical treatment; Because everyone is entitled to medical treatment, the waiting lists for treatment becomes to long, and in the end, can not treat everyone. Communism is good, theoretically, because it does strive to be a society in which every person is equal and every person, despite social class, is entitled to the same benefits.
