I began working on this novel while teaching on a professional exchange in Chiapas, Mexico in 1995 and my son Skyler was only eight months old.  I continued working on it in 1996 in Guanajuato, Mexico and finished it in Phoenix in 1997, the same year my daughter Clarissa was born.  Many thanks to my wife Rosy for her support and inspiration.  Grateful Deceivers was posted on the World Wide Web in February 2001.
