I Saw It One Evening

A mysterious pink beam brightens the base of a small rose bush.  Strange.  Every other thing on the far side of the house has long been swallowed up by the cold blue shadow of the approaching night.  A kneeling investigation in the damp grass, and an awkward gyration to the east, produce a wonderful discovery.  A golden window sends dusk's salmon-colored shades, indirectly, to that lucky spot, and blesses it, briefly.
